Our Butterfly Domes are fully customizable displays that are only made to order. Because of the significant amount of preparation work involved in preserving each specimen properly, please expect up to 4 weeks from the date of your order to the completion of your Butterfly Dome.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much will a Butterfly Dome cost?
Because each dome will be unique and one of a kind, the price for each dome will differ as well. Generally speaking though, Butterfly Domes start from RM400. Alternatively, because Butterfly Domes are "made to order", you can also provide us with a budget and our artist will make recommendations based on what is feasible.
What does made-to-order mean?
Made to order means that we do not carry any "ready stock" of Butterfly Domes. Each piece is made and sold based on the client's customization requests.
What can I customize in the dome?
If you have a strong preference for a particular color sheme/palette, which you think will match your space, you can indicate this during your conversations with the artist, who will then create your display piece using butterflies that are complementary to your preferences.
Can I choose what species of butterflies go inside my dome?
If you have a preference for a particular species of butterfly, you may indicate so to our artist. HOWEVER, our ability to fulfill such requests depend on the seasonal availability of some butterfly species.
Where do your Butterflies come from?
All of our butterflies are sourced from licensed suppliers of dead/preserved insects. We do not collect any of our specimens from the wild.
How about shipping?
Because of the incredibly fragile nature of these displays, we will not ship any of our Butterfly Domes. These are available for self-collection only from Petaling Jaya, West Malaysia.
How long will the Butterfly Dome last?
If properly taken care of, Insect specimens could potentially last forever (or at least for hundreds of years!) Make sure that your Butterfly Dome is stored in a dry area (so, not the kitchen or bathroom), and out of direct sunlight (which can cause the colors of some butterflies to fade with prolonged exposure).
What is the order process like
Fill in our contact form => customize your order with our artist => receive a quotation => put in a 50% non-refundable deposit => order creation begins => pay the remaining 50% to collect your order.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not support the illegal trade or collection of wildlife and as such, do not work with any protected or CITES listed butterfly species.

Exceptions may be made if these specimens are provided to us by our client for converting into one of our displays, however, it is then on the onus of the client to be able to provide us with proof of legal ownership in the form of a copy of the licenses and permits required to legally house these insects.
